I can't leave this kid alone for a minute! The best part was when I told him to get in the shower he said "I'm not ready yet, I have to cut my hair"!!! Oh boy!

Camping...kind of.

Found this post from last year that I never posted for some reason. Noni, Collin , Brylie and I rented a cabin at Old Mans Cave and had a little relaxing vacation-Lots of fun!

Tyler is 3!

It's hard to believe Tyler is 3! It just seems like yesterday we were meeting him for the first time. 

Some current favorites:

Hanging out in his "camper" which means lying in our bed with every pillow stacked around him watching Despicable Me ( Pickle Meat) with his milk. 

Playing in the tub for as long as we will let him. 

Wrestling with Collin...constantly! They can't keep their hands off each other!

P-skedie aka spaghetti 

Yelling out orders and "I wants" without a thought of a please or thank you. 

He loves preschool and all of his friends. He was recently invited to his first and second birthday party. Goes to school twice a week for 2 1/2 hours each day. 

We had a family birthday party at the house. 

And took him to Olive Garden on his actual birthday. And what did he eat? Pee-skedie! They brought out the cake and sang happy birthday which he loved.

 

Then we went home and open gifts in bed! Lol!

Good birthday! Next up is Collins 7th  birthday in a week!

Fingerpainting

January 2013

January is a big month for us! Both the boys have birthdays and that's a big deal in this house!
Tyler turned 2 on the 13th and Collin turned 6 on the 23rd. Ten days apart is rough when it comes to the birthday party thing, on top of the fact that its right after Christmas and its winter. Options are limited and costly. I see half way birthday parties in our future!

Tyler chose Minelli's for spaghetti.

Collin had a party at Locker Soccer. He collected over $400 in donations for the Mayan Families sport program instead of getting gifts.

And then we had a Playgroup birthday party which is always lots of fun!

Tyler got to get his wiener wacked (aka circumcision) Good fun! I'm certain it is more painful for us than it is for him. The poor kid had to wait for 2 years to grow out of his "fat pad".

Tyler started soccer which he LOVES! And he is very coordinated. A natural kicker. He can dribble the ball like he's 12 rather than 2.

We had some big messes-okay...a lot of big messes!

And spent some quality time with Meme

a pretty good month!

2013 Highlights

Clearly all of my self loathing about being a bad blogger has made absolutely no difference in my ability to keep up. So, no more apologizing! I know I suck (lol) so I will leave it at that. I'll do what I can, when I can.

It's amazing all that comes with the second child. I sometimes feel sorry for poor Tyler sometimes because Collin got 100 percent of my attention and it doesn't seem Tyler is getting the same. I used to have time to sit down at the computer and blog every little detail of life but not anymore. Collin's beginning was so well documented-Tyler...not so much! Ugghh-there I go again! Enough! On with our year!

I'm breaking it into months so its not such a huge overwhelming job. Thanks for keeping up!

The tooth fairy is coming, the tooth fairy is coming!

Collin finally lost his first tooth! And he pulled it himself! I have to admit watching him wiggle that thing around and seeing it dangling kind of made my stomach turn. It was so tiny I could hardly get a grip on it so his little fingers came in handy.I was so relieved it fell out before our dentist appointment in a few weeks. It wouldn't be any fun to have the dentist pull your first tooth!

As you can probably see there are two more coming in way behind it. Clearly we need to start saving for braces now! 

He was so excited and just kept saying "I can't believe I lost my first tooth". It was so stinking cute! 

How that tooth fairy finds that little tooth bag under his pillow without waking him is beyond me! What a silly idea putting it under your pillow. I think the tooth fairy may leave a note next time requesting he leave it on the kitchen counter. That seems like a much more logical place to me...I mean I'm no tooth fairy, but I just think it would be easier for all parties involved.

That silly fairly left a nice glittery one dollar bill and a Guatemalan coin after she took the tooth. I may request she shake the glitter off a little better next time because it was everywhere! Luckily we share the same philosophy (the tooth fairy and I) about what a tooth is worth. I think it's safe to assume that the tooth fairy probably has a stash of special Guatemalan coins used specifically to trade for little Guatemalan teeth...once again just a guess on my part.

Baseball Time

The past couple I years we have gotten the "dime a dog" night season tickets to the Clippers. Our seats are fantastic! This is Tyler's first year going. I can't say that his attention span is as long as Collins was at his age but he does seem to love baseball!
We try to tell him we are going to see the Clippers but he insists that they are the "Nati Reds".
